Meet Filmmaker Sophie von Rheden, a self-taught screenwriter
ABOUT SOPHIE
Hailing from Hanover and based in Madrid, this award-winning screenwriter has been involved in the arts since childhood, starting with poetry and oil painting in the late 1980s. After working as a makeup artist for fashion magazines in Munich and for years on the Majorcan property market, she learned screenwriting during the COVID-19 lockdown, which led to new opportunities in the film industry. Today, she balances her creative work with joyful moments spent with her two granddaughters and family.

Sophie is currently engaged in developing new projects. While big-budget blockbusters are undoubtedly appealing, they are not her primary focus. What she loves are authentic, female-driven stories based on true experiences.
